Bees and Beekeeper Photos

This is Jenny Gruber's hive with a plastic gallon bag feeder that is visible on top of the frames. The bees filled the space above the feeder with comb. Some of the comb was 5 inches deep. When space is left open, the bees will fill it.

Dave Phillips’ winter bee house protects hives from winter’s winds and bitter cold. Each hive slides into the entrance. Space is provided for feeding syrup. The entrance is restricted to direct the bees outside the building. The hives are insulated with foam, cardboard and blankets.
