May Beekeepers Meeting

Hello Fellow Beekeepers,

I would like to invite you to our next monthly Beekeepers meeting on Monday, May 11th,  at 7p.m. We will meet in room 116 at the Menomonie Alliance Church, 502 21st St N, Menomonie, WI 54751. (3 blocks north of the Hospital on 21st ST).

This month's speakers are Prof Kim Mogen and Prof Brad Mogen from UW River Falls.  They are both members of the Biology department at the UWRF and they are both beekeepers! Kim and Brad will give us on overview of the bee research they are doing. One of the projects they are working on is "Overwintering capabilities of nucs" and they recently received a grant for this project http://www.thecountrytoday.com/farm/country_options/article_ccc62f52-cc0b-11e4-aa5b-ff252e575689.html

I will present the results of the winter loss / success survey. Thank you for all who replied to my email or gave me the information at our last meeting.

REMINDER: If you ordered bees through the club this year - PLEASE RETURN the bee cages at the meeting on Monday, May 11th. This is the last opportunity you will have to return them. 

REMINDER: We are still looking for volunteers for our booth at the Dunn County Fair, July 22nd - 26th, 2015. If you are interested in working at the booth you can sign up on our website http://www.dunncountybeekeepers.org/fair-sign-up . We need at least 2 people for each time slot.Check out the list to see where more people are needed.
