Hello Fellow Beekeepers:

Our June meeting will be at the Menomonie Community Gardens to examine a hive! We will meet there at the regular date and time, Monday, June 13th at 7pm.

Please bring along:

  • your own veil, bee suit and gloves

  • a chair (for after the hive work)

  • questions
The Menomonie Community Garden is located at: 2500 9th Street East, Menomonie, WI 54751
This is just South of Phelan Park on 9th St. (County Rd Y), look for the community garden sign!
In case it rains on Monday, June 13th at 7pm, we will meet at our regular meeting place.
No lunch will be served.

Dr. Gordon Waller, State Bee Inspector for Wisconsin and President of the Wisconsin Honey Producers Association will be joining us. He will do a hive inspection of our club hive and talk about bee keeping equipment and techniques in general.

A special note for the visiting beekeepers:

Parking is to be on the grassy area north of the parking lot. There is a gate by the beehives for access to the hives. Cover cropping has been done to plots not rented as well as areas in the newly planted fruit tree section.

Beekeepers can either enter the mulched area at the north gate or remain outside the fence which will also give a good view for the hive inspection. The class and further demo area will be outside the garden on the west side. The club hive is the white one with one deep brood box.

Jen and the “Pollinator Group” will be meeting at the garden prior to the beekeeper meeting and will help direct members to the right location.
